INTERVIEW WITH TONI PACHECO
Today we chat with Toni Pacheco, barber and founder of TP Urban, a barbershop with its own personality located in Cassà de la Selva, very close to Girona. With barely a year and a half since its opening, his barbershop has already gained a loyal clientele, like the soccer players of Girona or Osasuna. In addition to winning the SoyBarbudo award for Best Barbershops in Spain 2024 and Top 7 most influential barbershops.
We talked to him about his beginnings, the day-to-day challenges, and of course, his experience as a Beardburys ambassador.
1. Who are you and how did you start in this world?
I'm Toni Pacheco, from Cassà de la Selva, a town near Girona. A year and a half ago I decided to open my own barbershop: TP Urban.
2. What do your clients value most?
The previous appointment. Because that way you have a more intimate relationship with the clients and no rush. At the end of the day, the client appreciates that you give him/her real time and attention.
3. How do you see the world of barbering today?
It's a super cool world, where you meet a lot of fellow barbers and where you can learn something new every day.
4. What would you say to a barber who is just starting out?
To dare. To set goals, both short and long term. It sounds basic, but setting goals gives you direction and motivation.
5. What is the most challenging thing about working in the barbershop?
Every day is a new challenge. People only see the haircut, but there is so much more: network management, business organization, customer service... Being a barber is not just about cutting well, it's about knowing how to manage everything behind it.
6. How did you discover Beardburys?
I met her at the barbershop where I used to work. We tried several brands and I liked Beardburys from the beginning. When I opened TP Urban, I knew I wanted to work with them.
7. What would you highlight about the brand?
Its authenticity and the fact that it is national.
8. Your favorite product of the brand?
The Hover, which is the powder wax with a dispenser. So what we do with that is to be able to expand it better and be able to work it both in a barbershop and for the client at home.
9. What does it mean to you to be a Beardburys ambassador?
For me it means to have opened the door to get to know the brand from the inside. To see the team, how they work, what's behind each product.
10. And finally, what is your goal for this year?
Not die, hahaha. And to improve every day. I don't see it as an annual goal, but rather as a daily commitment.
