Name: Roberto Moreno
When I was a child I wanted to be: I always liked being a hairdresser. Almost my whole family is in this wonderful profession. That's why it was clear to me since I was a child.
A reference in the barber world: My uncle Mariano with whom I started working 28 years ago and who taught me to feel, live and love hairdressing.
A song: Lou Reed - What's Good
Your favourite quote: "Nihil est in intellectu quod prius non fuerit in sensu" (There is nothing in the intellect that has not first been in the senses).
Best advice you've ever been given: I don't believe in advice, but I'm very good at giving it, especially to my clients who often tell us their stories and confidences.
Your first job as a hairdresser: Following the family tradition, it was in Te-Mar Peluqueros with my uncle Mariano and my aunt Tele... and with my cousins Jose Antonio, Jorge, David and Bea, with whom I shared great moments and helped me to forge what I am today.
Style that you most like to work with: 99% of what I do is a commercial style, but there is 1% of my work that I really enjoy and that is creative colour.
Your favourite male grooming product: Dry Wax by Beardburys without a doubt. It allows me to leave very natural looks which is one of the hallmarks of my business.
Best moment of your professional career so far: Uff, my profession has given me so many moments. Although if I have to choose one, I would choose the day I went up to the Beardburys stand at Salón Look in Madrid and among the audience were my mother, my aunts and uncles (all of them hairdressers, 10 in total), admiring my work and supporting me in every step I have taken.
