The GOYA Awards, also known as the Spanish Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences Awards, are one of the most prestigious awards ceremonies in the Spanish film industry. Every year, actors and actresses from all over the country gather to celebrate the best of Spanish cinema and to show off their best looks on the red carpet.

This past year 2022, the 36th edition took place in Valencia at the Palau de les Arts, where our ambassador Lorena Morlote shaped some of the most relevant looks of the gala. And this 2023, for the second consecutive year, Beardburys will once again be present backstage creating the most classic and elegant, or daring and risky looks.

What were the most successful looks at the Goya Awards 2022?

CLASSIC HAIRSTYLE

When it comes to men's hairstyles, classic and elegant haircuts have been the most popular among Goya attendees. Many actors have opted to wear their hair short and slicked back, creating a clean and sophisticated look that is very versatile as it is simple and easy to maintain, and looks good on the red carpet as well as on the big screen.

LONG HAIR

Another hairstyle that is becoming increasingly popular among actors on the national scene is long hair, mainly below the chin, which can be styled up, loose or slicked back to the scalp. This hairstyle is characterised by a more constant care and treatment, which provides a modern and youthful look, in line with current trends.

PEINADO CURLY

The curly method is also proving to be a big hit among the favourite styles of the male celebrities at the Goya Awards gala. This look is characterised by curly hair, the style of which varies depending on the length of the hair, and the finish they want to have: with a bit of shine, for a more elegant and classic hairstyle, or a matte look to give a casual and natural look.

UNDERCUT

The undercut has also been a popular hairstyle at the Goya awards and among younger people for several years. This hairstyle consists of cutting the hair at the nape of the neck and temples while leaving it longer on the top of the head. Actors who have opted for this hairstyle have combined the undercut with a beard or moustache to create a more modern and casual look.

In summary, the most popular male hairstyles at the Goya Awards include classic, sleek cuts such as the military cut and the slicked back, as well as more modern, casual hairstyles such as the undercut. Regardless of the hairstyle they choose, male actors have proven that a well-groomed haircut and a sophisticated hairstyle are a perfect complement to any red carpet look.

How do you achieve your looks?

1. CLASSIC HAIRSTYLE

Actor Arturo Vals has been seen with this hairstyle on several occasions, including at the Goya Awards.

1.  First we apply Matt-Clay Wax massaging with the fingertips to obtain the hairstyle we want. 

2.   To fix the hairstyle we want we will use the Lacquer 2in1 Boomer, applying it at a distance of about 20 cm, on the hair and spreading it well with the help of the fingers. 

3.    In addition to the hairstyle, a fundamental aspect of the look is the beard, where we apply a very light layer of Beard Balm with our fingers while massaging to soften the hair and give it the characteristic and natural shape that the actor usually wears.

2. LONG HAIR

The famous professor from 'La Casa de Papel', Álvaro Morte has a recognisable look with his majestic long hair, a hairstyle he also wore to the Goya awards, but without glasses on this occasion, and his natural-looking beard.

1.   We apply Slight Styling Cream, for better hair management, to avoid frizz and provide density.

2.  We used Fiber Gel to shape the hair in a natural and loose way, as the 'Professor' himself told us he liked it. 

3.  Another differentiating aspect of Álvaro is his beard, and in his case, to add shine and softness we use the Beard Serum, which keeps it moisturised throughout the day.

3. CURLY HAIRSTYLE

The beloved and incredible Guillermo Montesinos, has a look that he has managed to maintain throughout the years, and that of course never goes unnoticed, and now again, it is very relevant among all ages. 

1.   As with Álvaro Morte, to avoid frizz and give texture and density to the hair, we apply a light amount of Slight Styling Cream.

2.  We spray Ocean Sea Salt Spray to mark the curls giving volume and texture while nourishing and moisturising the hair.

3.   Finally, apply the Matt-Clay Wax for total curl definition and a matte finish, and fix the style with the diffuser.

4. UNDERCUT

Actor Adam Nourou, winner of the GOYA Award for Best New Actor, stays true to his style by keeping an 'Undercut' hairstyle at the Goya Awards, which he combined with a moustache. 

1.   A look as unique as the Goya Best New Actor winner's, the only touch up he needs is a bit of Ocean Sea Salt Spray to mark his undercut afro hairstyle, as his curls are already very defined, and what we were looking for was to give more volume and density by moisturising the hair. 

2.   To keep Adam's look intact in keeping with his signature moustache, we applied Beard and Moustache Wax, giving a light and long lasting shape to the look while caring for and protecting the hair.

5. PARA LOS QUE TENEMOS MENOS PELO

The emblematic Luis Zahera is one of those who doesn't need much to stand out wherever he goes, but that doesn't mean it's a look that many people want or already have. Who said bald men couldn't be groomed?

1.  Contrary to what many people think, being "bald" also needs maintenance to keep your scalp healthy and hydrated. Firstly, wash it with our Dr. Bald Shampoo to gently remove all impurities, leaving your skin radiant. 

2.  To finish with a refreshing and soothing sensation while moisturising the scalp, apply the Dr. Bald Lotion, with a natural paraben-free formulation that will make you look perfect ;)
